If 25 years in this industry teach you anything, it’s that you can’t stand still. You always must keep pedalling—because if you stop, the bike falls over.
That constant movement is what allows me today to look back with the strength that comes from having overcome countless challenges, and the satisfaction of seeing how much we’ve evolved. It’s been a long journey, one that has taught me that technology changes, but what truly matters is knowing you’ll be there when you’re needed most.
I started in this sector with a suitcase full of projects and a strong desire to contribute something more —what we now call value— to quality control and research laboratories. But the road hasn’t been easy.
There have been sleepless nights worrying about the future of the project, moments of uncertainty, crises, pandemics, disappointments, intense competition… and the frustration of not always being able to provide the answer a client was looking for.
Learning about technology, processes and costs is part of the journey, but as in life itself, it’s overcoming the difficult moments that truly gives you resilience and perspective. In the end, I’ve come to realise that our greatest asset isn’t just what we know or what we do, but the trust we build with the people we work with.
Today, as I look back on this quarter century, I realise that the most important things we’ve achieved are not just numbers.
I’ve had the privilege of building a team with the many colleagues who have been part of MicroPlanet over the years. Each one has left their mark. I’ve always learned something from them. To all of you, thank you for your commitment, dedication and hard work.
Our clients, suppliers and partners have also been essential along the way. Your expertise, your advice and your trust —especially when things were difficult— have helped us get to where we are today. That support during uncertain times is one of the most valuable assets we have as a company.
And without a doubt, perhaps the most important thing of all: I’ve gained friends. Many of those who started out as colleagues, clients or suppliers are now part of my life. That is probably the greatest gift this journey has given me.
To everyone who placed their trust in me when I was just starting out, and to those who have joined us along the way: Thank you.
Today, more than ever, we still have the same enthusiasm we had on day one.
